Melbourne Zoo

The oldest zoo in Australia
Melbourne Zoo, established in 1862, is the oldest zoo in Australia and is home to over 300 animal species. The gorillas in the tropical forest, are of course, among the most popular animals in the zoo. Otherwise, be sure to discover Australian wildlife typical of the bush and go walkabout with the kangaroos, platypus, wombats and koala bears.
See the world through a multicoloured prism in the butterfly house as they flutter about in the tropical greenhouse. Then take a trip into an Asian village in the company of elephants before going to greet an orang-utan. Not forgetting the aquatic animals of the Victoria coast and so much more at Melbourne Zoo!
